A gorgeous vintage majolica 7.75" plate featuring a beautiful golden tin-glazed basketweave background with raised cherry, blackberry, and leafy accents. The richgolden ground provides a striking backdrop for the softly colored fruit and foliage, while the dimensional relief gives the plate the wonderful texture and character that makes majolica so desirable. Produced in Zell am Harmersbach, Germany, the Zell ceramic factories have a distinguished history dating back to the late 18th century.

The coloring of the apples is particularly lovely, with the fruit and leaves standing out beautifully against the woven background.

Condition: There is visible paint loss/chipping to the stem and berry as shown in the photos. As is typical with vintage and antique majolica, minor glaze wear, flakes, and crazing may be present and are part of the character and history of these pieces.
